Over the years many distinguished golfers, writers and other sporting celebrities from all over the world have visited Nefyn, some of whom have written about what they saw and the experience of playing this dramatic golf course.
J. H Taylor wrote;
'The course is situated on one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen'
Nick Trend of Emerald, a golfing journalist described; 'The Point' as;
'a rugged finger of rock swathed with a ribbon or emerald fairway'
and another distinguished visitor described it as;
'the nearest thing to playing golf on the upper deck of an aircraft carrier'
James Finnegan in 'All Courses Great and Small' compared Nefyn with some other illustrious courses when he wrote;
'when it comes to stupendous views and the sheer exhiliration of playing shots in a clifftop setting high above the sea, neither of them (Kinsale, Pebble Beach) can put this remote Welsh course in the shade.'
One of Nefyn's past captain's expressed his thoughts on being a member when he wrote;
'this is not just a golf course and we are not simply playing a game, we are stewards of beauty.'
Nefyn's profile in terms of national and international golfing recognition was summed up by one of the 2010 Wales Ryder Cup executives in the following terms,
'Nefyn has now become the global iconic image for golf in Wales.'
